Dear All.,
JOYOUS New Year to everyone! I guess, it’s a choice for many … to be
happy or not to be happy this new year!? Or, I should say that many
should be happy because they have made it through again another year!
Hmm., don’t you think it would be better if people will rather learn
from each passing year?
The Bible says, “Be very careful, then, how you live — not as unwise
but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days
are evil.” –Ephesians 5:15-16
Let’s face it, many are wishing to have a lot of money to be
successful. For sure we all know the value of having plenty of money!
BUT we all have heard time and time again about many people who
started with nothing and yet went on to make great successes! How?
Well, I believe there are actually many things that are more valuable
than money, allow me to share some…
First is “time.” I believe time is more valuable than money. Money
can be earned but not time. You can only have 24 hours each day, no
more! The time you set aside not to be wasted, not to be given away.
How valuable is time? Here’s what I know: time wasted can be
devastation, while, time wisely invested can perform miracles!
Second is “determination.” I can say that I am blessed with a
wonderful mother! I was not born with a ’silver spoon’ (but with a
‘plastic spoon!’). Growing up, I always heard this important lesson
from her, she said, “My kids are hungry, I got to make this work. If
this doesn’t work, what will I do?” You work hard at whatever you can
possibly get when you get hungry. Desperation can be a powerful ally…
especially when you say – I must!
Third is “courage.” It is more valuable than money too! Another
important lesson I learned from my mother is this, she said, “If it
works once, it will work again.” She started a business with no money
but with a lot of courage.., I’m telling you, she made it! Through her
courage, all of us five children finished our education. Not only
that, she used the same “courage” that brought her and my father here
in America! Here’s what I believe — we are capable of incredible
things no matter what.
Fourth is “faith.” My mother is a strong believer. She said, “Wow!
If I can sell 5, I can sell 50. If I can sell 50, I can sell 150.” Her
self-esteem started to soar. I saw my mother astonished by her own
dreams of the future… and she’s right! One very important lesson I
learned: you become what you believe!
Lastly, “heart.” Do you know your purpose in life? Money can’t buy a
determined heart. A million dollars without a lively heart, you have
no life. You are ineffective if you have unrighteous heart. But a
passionate heart is the unseen power that moves people, moves people
to make decisions, moves people to act, moves people to respond!
Let me summarize it all – time, determination, courage, faith, and
heart., they all come from one great source, our GOD! He came so that
we can have this life to the fullest! He created us to love us. WE
are the main object of His love! BUT not until you realize this
important TRUTH and until you learn to allow Him in your life .. you
may just end up with the same old year…
“LORD, remind me how brief my time on earth will be. Remind me that my
days are numbered — how fleeting my life is.” –Psalm 39:4
